Whether you are happy to work from home or not it seems like home working is becoming the norm these days. In the last few months, many people have seen it as an opportunity to make use of a spare room and convert it into a better place to work than the kitchen table. Even if you don’t have a separate room to set up a home office, investing in a desk to place in the corner of any room can help you achieve that separation that we sometimes all need from work life and home life.

Our top office desks for your home
Small office desks
It’s no surprise we start with La Redoute. You’ll notice that we feature La Redoute a lot here, that’s because it is one of our favorite online interiors websites. We’ve actually included a few desk options from them in this post as truthfully it was just too difficult to narrow it down. I think you’ll agree though that the desks we have chosen are all very different in style and price. This stylish Scandinavian style desk in white/pine has drawer space for storage is the perfect small office desk for those short on space.
We absolutely loved the natural oak colour and the shape of this one and felt like it had a kind of retro home office vibe. Again, this oak retro desk is nice and compact but has a drawer to give some storage space.
Oak office desk
This oak home office desk from Habitat is perfect if you are looking for an office desk with drawers. This is a sturdy solid oak desk that won’t take up too much space, and although the drawers are slimmer, it’s handy to have some storage space for notebooks, pens, and paperwork.
Folding Home Office Desks
A lovely little folding home office desk from Argos in white, perfect for small home office spaces this one is probably more suited to a laptop than a large mac or PC, but it’s easy to fold and store when it’s not in use.
Corner office desks
There’s something we really love about this , it feels more like desk furniture, and how we’d love to style those shelves! Lots of shelf space above for storing folders and documents.

Ladder office desks
This wall-mounted ladder desk from Cox & Cox is ideal if you have a section of wall space that you just don’t know what to do with. It has an oak workstation, a shelf underneath for laptop storage, and a little shelf to style above.
Industrial desks
If you’d like an industrial feel and you are looking for a larger home office desk with drawers, this from Maisons Du Monde might be the one for you. Because of the solid wood and metal legs it almost has a vintage school desk vibe to it.
We adore the simplicity of this one, the Baltimore desk from M&S feels like a classic desk shape with the addition of a little drawer on the side, however, the beautifully rich dark finish alongside the dark metal legs gives it an updated more contemporary look.
Home Office Desks With Shelves
Another La Redoute find. A home office desk with shelves is such a practical desk storage solution, printers always end up placed awkwardly in another part of the room, we love that with this desk there are shelves to place it on, alongside any other desk accessories you need close at hand.
Office desks with hairpin legs
If you’re looking for large home office desk ideas but still want to keep it stylish, we’ve found a few larger desks with the ever so popular hairpin legs, like this wonderful Oak desk with drawers from John Lewis & Partners.
MADE.com also have a really unusual sage green console desk that’s also finished with bold black hairpin legs .
Black office desks

This from Next is again a little bit different and as it’s black feels like a very modern and contemporary desk choice. There aren’t any storage drawers on this one, but there is a handy little shelf for plant pots and pen pots.
Dunelm has really hit the mark if you’re looking for something a little bit different than the usual white or wooden office desks. This black home office desk is super chic and we loved the little pine inset handles to match the legs.
Statement desks
This vintage style desk from La Redoute feels like an executive desk for home use. The retro green colour and those gold finishes against the kidney bean shape is just beautiful. A desk with a cabinet is also useful for storing and hiding any paperwork out of sight (although maybe best not to be out of mind!)
Grey Home Office Desks
This beautiful grey home office desk from Argos has a storage shelf to the left, that would be perfect for storing your laptop when it’s not in use. There is also a handy little drawer on the right-hand side to hide away any cables and plug, banishing all traces of work and allowing for a lovely styled tabletop!
On curating this post we also found some amazing desk accessories online, so we feel that a little post on those might be on the horizon! Check back on our Trending Now section for more home office inspiration.
